I guess since it's almost Christmas now, I better get this thing updated. Too much to post and no time, but here is a great picture of the chocolates we dipped this year. It made me tired...but mostly because we had to party party party for several days straight!!!! Oh, and shop the Black Friday sales, it was actually pretty fun, despite what I've heard about the stores, people, and lines.

Trick-Or-Treat

So, Karlie now has like 3 Halloween costumes, and luckily there have been enough parties for her to wear all of them. She keeps finding this bunny one and wanting to wear it but she will not leave the ears on at all, luckily I got to snap this quick picture as she was reaching up to take them off. We can't wait to carve pumpkins and trick-or-treat with daddy this weekend, there have been several days lately that they haven't even seen each other all day because he'll go to work before she gets up and gets home after she's gone to bed. Our conversations go something like this throughout the day,
Karlie: "Dad...Dad...Dad...daddy, daddy"
Me: "Daddy is at work"
Karlie: "Dad...Dad...Dad...daddy, daddy"
We still have a lot of fun together though but we both miss him during his looooooooong shifts!

I Love Halloween!

I don't know if it's just the fall season in swing or just all of the fun of the Halloween Holiday, but I love it! This is the only time I miss going to work because we always have had such fun coordinating Halloween costumes, (Hunter : Deer, Pirate : Parakeet etc. etc.) and for me, it always centered around "How can I wear my pajamas to work with this Halloween costume?" So I am excited that I had a baby so close to the holiday and can't wait for all the Orange and Black Birthday parties Karlie will be having in years to come...okay...okay...I'm sure we'll have to have an all out princess one eventually but until then it's ghosts and goblins. With that you will not be surprised that I have already tried Karlie's pumpkin costume on her and it's hilarious because she can't walk or crawl in it, but acts so tickled and special to be wearing it. She also wore this last year when she was just 10 days old, and everyone kept saying what a cute little guy we have. Here is a before and after picture and just for the fun of it, some proof that I really do LOVE Halloween!!!

Walking Around . . . kinda

Karlies birthday is coming up on October 15th. We can't believe she will be a year old! I told her she can only have a party if she is walking by the time the day arrives so she has been busily practicing her steps. She really wants to have all her friends over for a party!

Lasagna, Weeds, and Water

Karlie had her first helping of Lasagna last week, and you can tell by the picture that she loved it! Her expression is cute in this picture. She is so funny with food, and almost hyperventilates before, during, and after her meals because she is so excited! We'll see if she is still like this even when she turns 2! She was about finished and we caught her look down at her hand, turn it over, and stick the whole thing in her mouth to lick off the sauce! HAHA! She's funny!

This goes to show you how much my mom and dad love me. I decided to do a garden totally on my own as Jared's words were, "I'm not helping." Or something like that. Let's just say I'm in debate whether or not to do it again next year. So on the hottest day of the year in the middle of the afternoon this is where my parents were...outside weeding it for me. I did go out and help too, while Jared and Karlie sat in the chair in the shade. If you look close enough most of the tallest green stuff is weeds. They were REALLY bad. A few days later, I was able to convince Jared to help me finish, we'll see how it turns out. His words that day were, "Isn't there like some cantaloupe or something? I don't want to pull them out!" HA!

Lastly, we've been spending some time in our make-shift pool. We turned the hot tub down to pool temperature and it is really nice and refreshing. Karlie loves to kick, and splash her feet. Yesterday, she got the hang of the lounge part and found the headrest. She was loving to lay back and kick her feet out in front of her. She loves to swim and is not afraid to stick her whole face right in the water.

Garage Sale...sniff...sniff

My family had a garage sale on the Friday of the 4th of July. It was fun, a lot of work, but we were glad to get rid of some stuff and make some mulah. I think Jared and I ended up with the most in the end because we sold his motorcycle and a lawn mower. Jace, our nephew, was quite concerned stating several times, (in between asking us if we could go to our house for a 4-wheeler ride,) while looking at the sign on the motorcycle, "That's a lot of cents!" Unfortunately, the last ride was not a pleasant one. I followed Jared in our truck on the old highway because the weather was looking a little questionable the night before. By the time we got to Fort Hall, it was POURING, AND I MEAN POURING RAIN! I would have been a little worried about driving in it (that is how bad it was) except my little honey was ahead of me on a motorcylce with bald tires. So I finally caught up to him at the first blackfoot exit only because he was going so slow and I had to laugh a little because there was a HUGE line of cars behind him. I was glad he was going slow and he made it safely considering all the puddles and downpour he rode through. In the end, he was sopping wet when we got to my mom and dad's house.
I'm embarrassed I'm even posting this next part...Some of you may or may not know (probably not know) that I have had a napkin collection. (I'm laughing just typing it) My parents cleaned out my old room and brought me all my stuff last year after we moved and it's been my summer project, the garage sale was a BIG motivator, to go through it all. So here it is, my napkin collection: Starting when I was about 10 or so, I thought it was really neat to go with my parents to all the neighborhood wedding receptions. I don't really know what it was, but everytime I went I had to collect a napkin from that reception and I saved it, sometimes 2, and you can see above I even got 3 from one once. I told everyone it was so when I got married I'd be able to see what colors went well together...or something. The oldest one I have is from 1989 (so I guess I was 9 when I started this) with the majority of them coming from the 90's as you can tell by the colors. I completed the collection with a napkin from my wedding reception in 2001, almost 8 years ago. I kind of forgot about them until now when they showed up in a box at our house. So, I couldn't bare to throw them away without first taking a few pictures and laughing my head off. Good-Bye my napkin collection...sniff...sniff!

Pocatello Fair

I talked Jared into taking Karlie and I to the Pocatello Fair last night, you know the one with the carnies, a couple of rides, and in an empty parking lot that occasionally comes to town? So, here's the pictures that we paid 12 Bucks for :) He looks so thrilled to be here...

We had to convince the fun house carnie that Karlie CAN walk on her own, with assistance, so we went through the fun house holding her hands and shuffeling our way through.

Karlie loves the bath. She has learned how to splash her hands, legs, and feet now, and it's quite entertaining to watch and she doesn't even mind the water going all over her including her face. Her favorite blankie's are these hand made ones from family, she loves to curl her fingers through the holes and have it close to her face. The other day her toes were sticking through it as well. Whenever I put any kind of hat/headband or really anything on her head she tries to pull it off, I stuck this crazy one on just for fun and she kept smiling like she new it was silly. She is 6 months and 21 days today! We love our Karlie Girl!

Where we've been...

This is what the Turner's have been up to in the last month + in no particular order:
rolling over from front to back but not back to front because the front is not very fun, trying rice cereal when it's convienient, 2 trips to SLC to see cousin Paige at Primary Children's Hospital, ate hospital cafeteria food, watched a really awesome Lightening storm,woke up to a TON of snow, showed Karlie rain for the first time, walked the mall with a lot of really old people, shopped too, visited Jared at work, brought him lunches, visited with an old friend that we met while walking, refurbished a free hot tub that was infested with mice, got a little too obsessed about checking Craigs list for a good deal on a crib, called a bunch of strangers about buying their used crib only to find that they had sold it weeks ago, drove to Logan and ate Maddox, went swimming and played motor boat motor boat, played with all the cousins, played gutair hero, ate at Rupes, visited Grandma's and Grandpa's, celebrated St. Patrick's Day a day late, started wearing 6 month clothes, watched American Idol, got our tax return, bought my own crib, fought about money stuff, took naps, worked on projects, cooked a couple of new things, played a musical number at my parents' singles branch, watched Beverly Hills Chee-WoW-WA, picked out A dress out of Karlie's many to wear for Easter Sunday, and lots more!!!!

Prescription

So, the other night Jared insisted that I sit by him while he types an e-mail to a pharmacist friend at 11:30PM!

jared: how do you spell prescription? Is it p...r...e... or p...e...r...???????????????????
jill: you are not asking me that (as I'm walking out the room), good-night.

It reminded me of the doctor's note I received at work, for a participant, from an OB/GYN that had spellled Gynecology; Gynodology on all their PREscription pads and business cards. My co-worker friends and I laughed and made fun of that one for days. I guess it is one of those things where it looks like it's spelled wrong after seeing it so much...or something.

On another note, here is a cute picture of our babe, she is already 4 1/2 months...soooooo cute!

At the Movies...

Manly Projects

Here are a couple of things that we've been up to lately. First of all, Jared decided (I was surprised) to finish the family and craft rooms in our basement, way sooner than we had both expected. At first, I was nervous because of paying for it, but now I'm excited for a few reasons. 1. Karlie and I will have another place to go in the house, I think she gets bored of me throughout the day, and LOVES visitors. 2. My neck hurts from watching our TV that is mounted way to high. 3. I can leave all my projects in my craft room instead of moving them from one place to the next trying to hide them when company comes over. Beside our basement we printed and mounted some updated photos for our wall. It turned out great and we were also able to print out a vinyl saying on Jared's mom's criket machine. It's a good thing Jared's around to do all the manly work of it all.

Okay...I did it

So, I finally did all the fancy stuff on our blog in case you didn't notice. I was repremanded by a certain someone who I will not name (NPR), and my poor baby has been neglected all afternoon. But apparently just a monthly post is not enough for some, maybe if there is something pretty to look at it will make it seem like I post more :) My aunt had this list on her blog and I really liked it so I'm passing it along to you, thanks DiDi!

Christmas in Review

I mentioned on my previous post more blogging to come and I've been wanting to post some pictures from Christmas so here are the highlights from the season and the pictures to go along. (Just a side note) One of my new year's resolutions is to carry my OWN camera and take my OWN pictures. Jared planned a festive party with tons of food...lots of people...and mostly fun!

We were excited to see our neice Paige on New Years as she has been in and out of Primary Childrens (but mostly in) since the day after Thanksgiving and she and her mom weren't able to be around much for the holidays. We hope she continues to get better and think of her everyday. If it wasn't for staying up until 3AM we would have started out the new year right!

WE ARE SO BLESSED AND HOPE 2009 IS AS GREAT AS 2008!
